The Baby Room Project . . . . Not Finished Yet!

The baby room was recently flooded due to a backed up pipe.

Our group spent time cleaning the walls and doing the final preparation for painting.

Penny had a vision of creating a beautiful mural that the children of Casa Hogar could help paint.

As with many things that you involve children in, it sometimes feels "out of control," but one of Penny's special gifts is her creative vision and her ability to involve many in the project. Truly, the children not only enjoyed painting the room but a few also had fun painting each other!
The room will have a blue sky and green landscape along with clouds in the sky. Then the group will paint verses on the walls.
As you can see, paint ended up on faces and hair as well as the walls! :-)
A few of the clouds painted by Penny, Paloma (who is an excellent artist), and Marni (below) who is an art teacher in St. Paul.

Jessica and Amanda had fun painting.
John did a lot of the edging work along with the blue walls.
Lewis and Jorge sporting blue hair.

 A group effort indeed!

Everyone had a lot of fun and the room will be beautiful when it is finished!
This is truly Penny in her element  — she's having a creative ball with the kids!
