Arrival in Laredo and at Casa Hogar

We finally arrived at Latin American Lutheran Mission (LALM) at about 3:00 p.m. Because this year we were not able to take the bus across the border, Pastor Antonio had worked on arranging our transportation across the border in a number of vehicles.                                                          Note the photo of the drumming on our pots — how we entertained ourselves while waiting!

Once again, it was a "flex and flow" situation — the vehicles were a combination of vehicles from Casa Hogar (driven by Juanny) and from LALM. We realized that we won't be able to take the trailer across as we had originally planned (the trailer hitch didn't match the balls on any of the vehicles). In addition, when a smaller group went to Sam's Club, our large food order wasn't ready! So we scrambled to figure out how to take our own stuff across along with a few essentials.

We finally all made it across the border safely arriving at the orphanage by about 6 p.m. As always, it was an emotional arrival with lots of hugs and tears between old friends and the making of new friends!  We also had to punt with dinner as we didn't have our large food order from Sam's yet, so we fired up the outside grill and made a great hamburger dinner.

It was very late when the last dish was cleaned up and we were finally all in bed.

We had a very full day, but felt God's hand with us at every point along the way.
