The Bakery at Casa Hogar

One of the exciting new things at Casa Hogar since we were last there two years ago is a bakery.

Several of the kids work in the bakery each day. Isac and his wife, Cristina help manage the bakery. Isac grew up at Casa Hogar, left when he got married, and now has returned. He and Cristina have two young children.
Ken, our bus driver, is a former baker. He is teaching Isac and some of the other workers how to make french bread.
Some of Ken's first french breads that he made with the bakers. Tomorrow, they will be baking french bread themselves.
Here are some of the wonderful breads that are baked each night at the bakery. Casa Hogar supplies these breads for over 60 stores in Nuevo Laredo.
Yolanda works in the bakery each day as well as Cynthia (below).
Racks of the various sweet breads that are cooling after the baking.
Testing Ken's bread — it was delicious!

Tonight, another of our team members, Ken, will be baking pizza in the bakery for everyone. Ken spent his career at Davanni's pizza and is going to be teaching Isac how to make pizza dough tomorrow.
